 Welcome to SCIA

The purpose of this workshop is to prepare participant to register clients in a Red Cross shelter. The Shelter Client Information Application has been designed to enable shelter workers to easily capture basic client information on any phone, tablet or laptop without significant training or technical abilities. This workshop includes an exercise to give participants an opportunity to become familiar and practice registering clients in the system.

LOGISTIC TEAM MEMBERS

Join us for a hands-on experience in the proper technique of pulling a trailer during an operation and the activities associated with it. Participants will learn about the skills, abilities and knowledge needed by Mass Care/Logistics workers and how they can become involved in Shelter Operations in their region. The course emphasizes safety in all aspects of the task.

Prerequisites:
Disaster Cycle Services: An Overview
Participants need to have a current, unencumbered driver’s license for their respective state and must have personal auto insurance.
Be a Red Cross approved driver.

Description
Concept of Operations Intermediate is a 5 hour, advanced level, instructor-led or virtual instructor-led training.
This course replaced Concept of Operations 3.0 Management. The equivalency of that, combined with Concept of Operations 5.0: What’s Changed was retired on August 1, 2024. After that date, anyone who has not completed both courses must take Concept of Operations Intermediate, regardless of previous completion of Concept of Operations 3.0 Management.

All Chiefs (CH) in all Activities
All Generalist Managers (Group/GEN/MN)
Division and region disaster leadership (including DDEs, DDDs, DDSRDs, DRMT, RDOs, SDPMs, DPMs, DPSs, associated volunteer partners, and other volunteer leadership.

This course will provide SRT workers, as well as those who will support the day-to-day implementation of SRT Casework, with the knowledge and skills to be able to support shelter residents in creating individualized action plans to be able to transition from the shelter to a more sustainable living solution.
